About
Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. Microdermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that's abundant when you're a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin.
What should I expect? - After a microdermabrasion treatment, your skin will appear pink, however, it subsides in a few hours. A few days after the treatment you might feel like you have minor sunburn. Use gentle cleansers and avoid harsh exfoliants 2 days after treatment to avoid discomfort and irritation.
When will I see results? – Microdermabrasion results are usually immediate and noticeable. Fine lines, enlarged or clogged pores, mild acne, and skin texture/tone can be treated with microdermabrasion. Most patients experience dramatic improvements in the color, tone, and texture of the skin. Over the course of a series of treatments, the body will produce new layers of skin containing higher levels of collagen and elastin which improves the complexion and gives the skin a more radiant, vibrant glow.
